I’m not going to talk and talk about what I felt about this book. I’m going to say my piece and leave it as that.

First – I felt like I was reading the Viking Tv Series, but instead of Ragnar being the main character it was Freya. I loved Ragnar, I can’t say I felt that way about Freya.

Second – I felt like the writer didn’t do her research into Viking marriages and Viking standings regarding women’s rights. I felt like she could of done better with her research. Because what happened to Freya wouldn’t have happened to her in real Viking community.

Third – I’m sorry but using magical weapons, I get it, it’s fantasy but it was just really stupid to be honest. I feel like she could have left that out of the book. It would have been a lot better.

Fourth – Throwing big names into her book like Ragnar, Bjorn just made me irritated. Like really? You couldn’t have come up with your own characters. You, had to use them in your book, to make your book better?

Fifth – Using words like “Slick and Sex” when she is exploring herself in her V area. Just makes it so gross to be honest. Like, you couldn’t have come up with other words? I’m so sick of seeing “Slick and Sex” to explain the V area. I know that I’m not the only one. Everyone in the book community HATES that so much.

Sixth – Why, did you keep trying to drown your main female character? every other couple of chapters. She was being either being almost killed by a dude or drowned. It was really, really annoying and I just wanted to scream. STOP IT!!! or stomp on the book from being so annoyed.

Then the Seventh – You, could have put a warning that you would be talking about animal slaughter, not just talking about, but going into detail about it. Seriously, that gave me nightmares.

Alright – Do I recommend this book? Yes, I do. Is it a 5-star read, nope not at all. Will, I read the second book. A curse carved in bone, probably, most likely just because I hate not finishing a series. So, yes, I probably will get the next book, read and review it sometime in 2026. Do, I recommend you check out her other books. Yes, I haven’t read anymore of her work, but I do plan to check out her collection in the future.
