If you love Norse and Viking Mythology being brought to life into the 21st century, if you love a college setting, first love, Giants and Gods. This book has it all and so much more.
Characters –
Rey – I really liked the daughter of Odin; she is an amazing strong female lead character. I loved everything about this warrior chick. She is one of those characters that really makes you feel and see everything she is seeing and feeling. Off the bat, she will make you go well damn girl! Ok, so you get it. I really, really like her as a character.
Then we meet Aric and Reeves (Brothers) You want to hate them, but you also want to love them. It’s really hard fine line to walk. Aric is so sweet, bratty, broody and just one of those guys. That acts tuff but he is big softy under all that peacocking. Then Reeves well hell I honestly wanted to hate him, he is annoying, rude, a smart ass and yes, you want to see. His brother or Rey kick his ass over and over again. but you won’t help but really honestly adore him.
Rowen – Rey’s best friend, protector, bodyguard, I loved their friendship. I loved how much he loved her and took care of her; he was there for her when she needed him the most.
Laufey – Rey’s stepmother.
Odin – the all father and Rey’s dad. (Mafia, God, King, Father)
There are so many amazing characters in this book, that you won’t see coming. The characters are more than what you see.
Each character is someone from Viking, Norse Mythology. (Odin, Loki, Thor, BiFrost Giants.)
You, also learn about different Runes, that are part of this book. I really, loved that. Rachel Van Dyke really takes you deep into the Viking Norse Mythology and beliefs. I wanted more and I hope this isn’t going to be a standalone book. Because it’s just that good.
I’m not going to tell you anymore then I already have, because you need to read this book. You should read this book. This book in my opinion is a 5-star read.
