What an amazing story!! I fell in love with each of the characters.

The Sparrow – Princess Odessa Wolfe

The Guardian – Ransom aka Zavier Wolfe

Evie – Zavier’s daughter.

I loved Odessa – She turned into such a bad ass, she is thrown into a world. Where she is married to a Prince she has never met before. Sent to his homeland with her ladies in waiting. She is introduced into a whole new world. With monsters that are sick killing town folks. Instead of being a spoiled Princess, that is afraid to be anything then what she is “The Spare”. She turns into a warrior, to help fight these sick monsters. While she is learning about the man she married, his family, his clan, his Kingdom. Turning into this amazing beautiful, strong, powerful woman. That ends up being someone that changes her own story. Which I really loved reading. I loved seeing her grow, I loved seeing all these different things being thrown at her. She learned to step up and be a brilliant smart strong female lead and I adored it. I love a Fantasy book that makes the female be this amazing. Strong human being instead of something well that isn’t. I can’t wait to see what happens with her in book 2 Rite of the Starling.

Now let’s talk about the Guardian, Ransom aka Zavier. Oh boy the guardian. I swear I fell for him right away. He is just one of those characters you can’t help but fall in love with. From, the moment you meet him. You know there is so much more and trust me there is. The man is magical and I mean magical, a warrior, a prince, a guardian and he is perfect for Odessa. In the beginning well Odessa hates him and wants him dead. But there is also lust that she is trying to ignore. So, you see the love to hate relationship they have. I won’t tell you much about him or what happens. But man, I truly dug their relationship. You couldn’t help giggle at lot because of the way Odessa treats him. She can’t help but tell him over and over again. How much she hates him, and he goes I know LOL!!! But under all that hate is all the love. When you find out the Guardians secrets Oh boy the shit hit the fan and emotions go crazy, but the outcome is so beautiful.

You meet some amazing characters, thru this book and each one plays a big part in their story and what happens. So, you have to pay a bit of attention because if you don’t. You can miss something so major. (Evie) omg I fell for that little girl, how quickly Odessa stepped into the role of bestie, friend, caretaker for Evie and you see and feel the love she has for this amazing child. I cannot wait to see how it changes and grows.

I recommend reading Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry, I adored every single moment. Every single chapter and every single page. I’ve already started Rite of the Starling and can’t wait to see what happens next. This is a 5-star read 🙂
