Book 2 of the Shield of Sparrows Saga. I totally admit I had a really hard time with this one. The back and forth between Odessa and Caspia. Was a bit annoying for me, every other chapter was either Caspia or Odessa. I really just wanted to focus on Odessa and what was happening with her and Evie. Then having to add another person who wasn’t in the first book. I felt like it took a lot of energy to care about Caspia and her cousin. I really didn’t want to keep reading about her, and I felt like it really didn’t make any sense of what was happening in the storyline. So, it took a lot of energy for me to keep reading it and I admit I wanted to DNF it a few times. The best part of this book was the once again the relationship between Evie and Odessa and of course Ransome. I loved how they became a family, the love that they had for each other. I loved when they found each other again. That was perfect and really beautiful. But I hate to say this, I wouldn’t read this again. It didn’t match the amazing first book the Shield of Sparrows at all. I just felt like she could have done better, with the story and the characters. I just felt like it was a waste of space and energy and didn’t make me excited to keep going. I’m glad I did just so I could finish it. I don’t know if she is writing a 3rd book to the series. I don’t know right now if you asked me. If I would read book 3.. I really don’t know to be honest. If I would continue with the series at this point and time. But, I want to say this. This is just my opinion, please read the book and take what I said with a grain of salt. Just because I don’t like it, doesn’t mean you won’t like it.
