Neon Gods – Let’s talk about it shall we? I honestly wasn’t sure I was going to keep on reading it in the beginning. The first few chapters honestly bored me. But I stuck it out and I’m glad I did. I’ve read a few Hades and Persephone retellings now. This one was different and honestly this retelling will surprise you. Persephone isn’t this innocent angel that Hades wants to well for better words fuck. Not fall in love with but fuck and control. This time the tables were turned. She was the one that wanted him and wanted him to fuck her. That was surprising the girl of Spring, being a bad ass girl that knew what she wanted and she wanted him. This time Hades was soft spoken, a golden retriever style boyfriend. Which was a really nice to be honest. I really liked this version of him. There was Spice and I mean there was Spice. If you don’t like people watching while the characters are getting down. Then the spice in this book isn’t for you. But there also was romance, family ties, love, respect and honestly a lot of strong women in this book. It’s a quick read I finished it in 2 days. So, if you’re looking for something with Spice, mythology, the Greek G-ds this book is totally for you. If you love Hades as a sweet, charming character that is all about the love for her. Then this book is worth the read and adding it your collection. I’ve been on this Greek Mythology retellings since 2025 and this one. I have to admit was honestly better than the rest. It wasn’t “Rape” it wasn’t taking her innocent and then leaving her broken. Like all the rest of the books I have read so far. This book was all about her and her power and man that rocked!! I love a good strong female lead that takes the lead and says what she wants and doesn’t beat around the bush. She is the one that allows what happens in the bedroom and not in the bedroom. Two adults that want what they want and enjoyed every single moment. So, well done to Katee Roberts for making sure that Persephone wasn’t a victim but a queen. I really appreciate that more than I can say.
