Wow what a ride this book is. I really liked the cat and mouse game between Adeline and Zade. I loved the backstory of what happened in the house to her grandma Gigi. I loved how history was repeating with Adeline except the murdered part. I have to admit I loved Zade he just one of those characters. That leave you wanting more from him. Adeline is such a bad ass. I admired how she kept trying to keep a moral code when it came to him. Saying it will never happen again, I need this to stop and well it doesn’t. it was an interesting way for the guy to get the girl to say the least. The backstory of what Zade does for work is really heavy set in this book and can be alarming for any woman to read. Since it has to do with women and children. It will make you angry, it will make you sick to your stomach. But part of you will want to stop reading this book at times. But I’m glad I finished it, because it’s worth it. I’m looking forward to reading Hunting Adeline. To find out what happens next. Since it does leave it on a Cliffhanger in book 1.
Here is where I’m going to tell you to read the Trigger warnings and I mean it, please read it before you start this book. Because it is really heavy duty at times and can be really unsettling. It talks about Sexual Assault on Minors, women. Stalking, Rape, trafficking to name a few.
There is an amazing sex scene in a house of mirrors. That is going to leave you breathless just saying lol!. That scene is going to live rent free in my head for a while. When I say this book is a Dark Romance it really is a Dark Romance. But man, it’s one of those books once you start you can’t stop. You need to know what happens next. It also has that thriller aspect and it’s just so fun.
Fyi – I found it really hard to read the black pages with the white lettering… I know it’s supposed to look “Bad ass”. But man, it was really hard for me. To see what was written and I struggled having to reread it a couple of times. So, I didn’t miss what was being said.
This is not a Stand Alone series, so you need to read the next one. To find out what happens need to Adeline and Zade.
