Book 3 of the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent. This a Dark Romance series. (Setting College)
I loved this one, the story was amazing and kept you on your toes the whole time. I couldn’t put it down I needed to finish it so 5 am this morning I did finish it, and I totally admit I cheered the ending was sooo good and I mean sooo good. Let me introduce you to the characters from this book Jeremy Volkov and Cecily Knight. Jeremy is the future leader of the NY Bratva Mafia in NY city. He is the bad boy, and I mean the bad boy. But there is a whole side of him that no one sees, and he doesn’t let people see. Except his family he is someone that walks a fine line with the darkness and the light. Then he meets Cecily who is a quiet girl that stays under the radar and doesn’t get noticed by people. But craves the darkness as much as she craves the light. She is the mom of her group of friends. She makes sure everyone around her is taken care of. But what happens when the angel meets the devil? Well, that is exactly what you see in this book, and it was amazing. It’s dark romance, its love, it’s Kink, it’s Mafia and much, much more.
Don’t even get me started about the butt of the gun being used as a sex toy That is going to live rent free in my head. What is with the Mafia guys wanting to get the girl off with a gun??? Ok that is all I’m going to give you lol!!!
Let’s talk about the Kink for a moment. She talks about a subject called “Primal Play”. I had never heard of that before. So yes, I did a deep dive into it online. So, I could understand Cecily a bit more and what she craved in the darkness. So, from what I understand is that a person likes to be chased and well “Fucked”. I found that really interesting because it’s not about being “Raped”. Cecily needed that part of her taken over and controlled. It wasn’t about being “Raped” as I said. She needed to not think about having sex. She needed Jeremy to take control and to show her that it was safe. To allow someone to dominate her body, until she gets that release.
I honestly am loving this series but they’re also considered stand alones so you can read the series together or alone. But it does make more sense to read them back-to-back like I am. Since you get to meet the other characters that are in different books and you see the relationship that they all share from friends and family.
