McCall’s Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Farm.

The Farm’s History

The McCall family owned this land for centuries. They farmed the land and raised livestock for their butcher shop. Then, in the early 70s the State Highway Dept. decided to build an interstate right through the farm. Mr. McCall fought it with all he had, but in the end lost. He was never the same after this defeat. He watched helplessly as the highway was constructed right through his family land.

Over time the farm fell into ruin, a shadow of its former self. Mysteriously, his family was never seen or heard from again.   It was rumored that Farmer McCall slaughtered his wife and children, though there was no evidence to prove it. In the following years, there were even more rumors of missing tourists that broke down on the road near the farm. There were superficial investigations by the local authorities, but they could never find any evidence that Mr. McCall had anything to do with the mysterious disappearances. Some locals suggested that Mr. McCall was butchering motorists that broke down near his farm. Shortly after these rumors began to circulate, Mr. McCall seemed to disappear as well.   Finally, local officials searched the farm for Mr. McCall and his family after no one had seen or heard from them in months.

Their worst fears were realized when they found skeletal remains of many missing tourists. The most shocking discovery, however, was the shallow graves of Mrs. McCall and their 4 children.   Mr. McCall was never found. However, some still claim to see him tending the fields at night, carrying on his gruesome work.

(From Me)

I loved the Corn Maze it was amazing, the Aliens, the Werewolves especially the werewolves. The clowns were dope AF The costumes were sooo fun and I loved every moment of the maze experience. But I want to point out to anyone that has breathing issues like Ashthma. The fog gets really dense in part of the maze and in the haunted house experience. Someone that doesn’t have breathing issues. I was having a hard time breathing at times. My sister’s husband that has breathing issues was really struggling to walk thru the fog parts. We had to stop so he could catch his breath. So that is something to think about. When you’re in a tiny space and if you have issues like that. You need to be aware of that. Also, the scare actors telling you to keep moving. When you CAN’T see where you’re going… That is really over whelming and scary and yes, I ended up hurting myself. I twisted my ankle badly and that ruined it for me. Since I had to go and sit down to let my ankle calm down because it was smarting sooo badly.

If you don’t like closed spaces don’t go into Curtain Chaos, I went in there and had a meltdown. I started crying, I couldn’t breathe. It was a box in a box, and you can’t find your way out. With the strobe lights, the horn and not being able to move. It can be come really frightening if you don’t like tight spaces this is a skip. But if you love tight SPACES, you’re going to love it.

I would of loved to see scare actors walking around, that was sad to not see any. Just saying that would of been a nice perk. The different things to do from Axe throwing to walking around the pumpkin patch was so much fun. The food omg don’t even get me started on the food!!! the smells that were all over the place was amazing and the turkey leg was soooo good. The funnel fingers I think that is what they called them was funnel cake and sugar powder on the top OMG!!! So, so good and I enjoyed it. I loved seeing people in costumes was so good like the guy in the photos that was dressed like Art the clown!! What a treat. Also, they need to allow filming and have more photo areas to take photos… Just saying. That is a missed opportunity for McCall’s. For someone that always takes photos. That is something I would have loved to see during the event. Different places and with scare actors. It’s a memory in the making, also a HAYRIDE experience. Would also be something they should consider adding to the experience.

But I want to say this, I really enjoyed myself. I will give it 2 thumbs up and 4 stars. For the things that I have mentioned above. Please go check them out, it’s worth the hour drive outside of Santa Fe.
