Out of all 3 books so far that I have read, I really liked the relationship between Lake and Taylor. Lake is one of those characters that starts out very scared and shy. That will do anything for her “Lord” because that is what she has been groomed for. But in the end, she ends up growing into herself and becoming a strong woman. A woman that can hold her own with Taylor and his grooming from the “Lords”. I was really angry at Taylor at first because of the way he treats her like a piece of meat. Something to be used for his sick game of revenge. Basically, fuck her, use her and throw her away at the end. But Lake changes all that and end, ends up becoming a woman that he ends up falling in love with. Something he didn’t see coming at all. I loved how she turned the tables on him. Learned to play his game against him in the end. Instead of them playing a game of sex, lust and the lords. It ended up being way more then they both bargained for. Something about these books she takes you on a ride. The sex scenes are intense, and I mean intense from BDSM style to breath play. Control and being controlled in every aspect of the sexual relationship between them. Basically, it’s whatever Taylor says in bed, and she can’t do anything about it. Sex is something that the “Lords” take and don’t care how they do it. So, ya the scenes can be really tough to read, and it comes with a warning sign adult reader only. Shantel Tessier has a way with words, and she can write one hell of a book and can’t wait to read the next set of books in her Dark Romance series.
